Look, I know it isn't easy. The smell of fresh baked pastries and confections, deep fried everything and fat infused gravy to top it all off. It smells like life and death all at once.
The holidays are near and I can smell the bittersweet memories of the illness inspired seasonal favorites I used to indulge in. The first year I went plant-based it was just before the holidays and I remember how everyone thought I would cave for those special, food centered events. But I was hooked by the time "Thanksgiving" rolled around and set in my plant-based ways.
So how do you keep yourself from eating all those indulgent foods when it is just so tempting!? It's easy... and also probably one of the hardest things you'll ever train yourself to do. Learn to say no, and mean it- from the bottom of your stomach.
The decision of eating something unhealthy, that doesn't align with your new goals and vision for yourself is as easy as saying Yes or No. The temptation is what makes it difficult, but you are stronger than that. You will mess up, and cave and say yes- feel guilty, regretful and learn from that to say no. Be easy on yourself and I promise your stomach, body and overall healthy will remind you when you make poor decisions.
